Follow on from our demonstration in August, our theme for the September Challenge Cup is a paperweight. Below are a few examples, selected from the internet, that may inspire our members into something spectacular.
Be inspired and who knows.
Welcome to MSWA Mid Staffs Woodturners Association website. We hope you enjoy the experience and the site will keep developing over the coming days and months.
Our previous website has served us well over the years and we thank those who have maintained and contributed to the smooth running of the site.
There are still quite a few pages and items to add to the site, so please revisit to see the site progress.
AWGB have requested the assistance of MSWA at their October International Woodturning Seminar.
The Instant gallery and trade areas will be open to visitors free of charge but we do ask people to register on arrival. Perhaps your club would like to arrange a day trip for your members?
Details of trade exhibitors are on the AWGB Seminar website.
Our next meeting will be held on Friday 7th September. Our demonstrator will be Emma Cook.
Emma, hails from the great county of West Yorkshire and standing at the mighty height of 4 feet, 10 and a half inches, you may be able to understand why I adopted the business name of 'The Tiny Turner'!
“I adore working with wood because it has a story and a soul of its own” said Emma. “Each piece has lived its own life and that is what makes it so unique”.
Her work is outstanding, as you can see from the few examples below.
"For my demonstration, I am planning to make a Christmas ornament, see below (inclusive of fairy lights). I will have lots of them on the night, so that members can have a go at making one themselves" said Emma
