Happy New Year
I hope this finds you all well and that you have had nice Christmas
Unfortunately, we yet again find ourselves in uncertain times. At the committee meeting this week we discussed the current Covid situation at some length and have decided to cancel the AGM this month.
This decision was not taken lightly but in all honesty none of the committee felt that going ahead with the AGM in January could be justified given the out of control issues with the pandemic. Our priority all through has been to ensure the safety of the members and this will always be the case.
On a positive note, we have decided to have a much shorter AGM and demonstration on the first Friday in February which is the 4th.
The AGM should take no more than 15 minutes and will be followed by your Chairman giving a demonstration on spindle turning plus an insight on how the woodland has developed over the last 18 months and some highlights of how he has managed to keep things going through the pandemic.
We are asking people to also bring along things they have made during the pandemic along with a few things that may not have gone to plan. Don't be embarrassed I have a workshop full of these!
Could I also remind members that the AWGB subs are due, an email detailing how to pay has been sent round but if you have any questions please contact me or any of the other committee members.
A final word on the meeting planned for Feb 4th. Could everyone please ensure they wear face coverings unless medically exempt. if possibly take a lateral flow test during the day and if you have any symptoms at all please stay safe indoors and we will be able to catch up with you in March.
Sorry to have to delay things again but I hope you understand the reasons.
See you on the 4th of FEBRUARY
